Because is important for people to grow their own food and in this case to have rooster and hens.

I agree with this petition. 4-6 hens is not enough.

Having additional chickens and a rooster allows neighbors to share eggs with friends and neighbors in need of food during times of economic crisis

This would be a great to have extra hens without a limited. Let alone having a rooster. They protect the girls very well. Please we should Not have to have a permit to have chickens. They are a joy to have and loved like pets. Permits should not be required. I would rather listen to a roo then a crazy dog that barks all day.

Hens lay a lot more with a roo around. And it’s very healthy for the hens. 4 hens is not enough.

People should be able to have as many chickens as they can care for properly and ensure they’re healthy

It crazy for a city bureaucratic who knows nothing about farming/gardening to be involve in regulating what someone is doing on their property, (Just because you have a degree means nothing.)

Roosters are needed for the social structure of a flock including keeping the hens safe.

Safer to have the one rooster versus none.

I believe it should be at least 8 Chickens per lot or 12 on double lot. In this amount, you have the option to have up to two roosters. Examples: 6 hens, 2 Roos = 8 chickens. I have a dog (Athena) American bully. She is my pet/companion no different to me than my hens. People walk their dogs or sometimes they escape and allow them to poop other people property. My hens poop on "MY" property in "My" coop. Why do you have to regulate what I do on "MY" property that "I" pay taxes on. A hen actually provides more than a dog. Chickens will provide food such as eggs for breakfast and meat for lunch or dinner + companionship and roosters provide security. Some dogs provide security and companionship. Many people don't know that a hen can make a great pet companion and are great with kids, especially a docile breed such as the Orpingtons. I believe we simply lack knowledge and also don't realize how much healthier it is to have natural food.

4 is not enough, 6 is a better number, they are social creatures and the more hens the healthier the flock
