Allow Parents To Opt Out of Inclusive (LGBTQ+) Texts and Readings!

I don’t want my kids learn about lgbt

As a resident and parent, I strongly oppose the idea of teaching our kids a lesson not supported by us. Parents should be clearly communicated, no hidden lessons or disregarding parents on communication. There are several venus off school ground where kids can learn about sex and secondary sexual characterstics. Like alcohol, young people should wait until they turn 21 to decide if they have to follow a different path, maturity should come first before any major decision in life!!

No Thank You

As a parent of 2 kids in the mcps system, I am deeply saddened and concerned that mcps believes the LGBTQ+ material they are including in the curriculum is age appropriate. To boot they want to take my right as a parent to opt-out of such instruction. Since when did we want lust, in whatever form, to become an agenda of elementary age children? I hear some on the opposite side liken this to learning about scientic theories. Learning theories doesn't have direct life ramifications but making an 8 year old wonder about their orientation does. This isn't a mental burden I want my little kids to have. If we want to teach about respect of others, there are so many other means to achieve it. As a parent and as a christian, I have the responsibility and the liberty to censor what my kids watch, what they read and what they hear. Who/what gives mcps the right to take away that liberty?
