Allow OCI / PIO to exchange Indian Rupees

It is not fare to OCI card holder not to be able to exchange their hard earned money.

We should be allowed to exchange our hard earned old notes

I have INR 1000, 500, 100 value currency to meet my incidental expenses while travelling to /from India and will not be travelling till August 2017 to India. I request that I may be permitted to exchange this currency on arrival

The issue remains, no action by RBI or Indian Govt. for OCI / PIO card holders having old currency notes in different amounts. Do we take legal action? We all are working people and not sure how many can commit to this cause as everyone has not significant amount of these old currency. Comment pls.

When my brother went to exchange his money, he was told( by this shameless official at the desk) that you NRIs have a lot of money. So what does it matter if you ppl were to loose 1000s of Rupees? My brother retorted that NRIs have worked hard for their money, just like other Indian citizens! How DARE he make such a comment in the first place? THAT says it all, I'm afraid !

Why discriminate between NRIs and other foreign nationals who were abroad during the period of demonetisation. It is inherently unfair on the Indian diaspora who have a long term connection and investments in India.

It is such a tragedy and humiliating that the Indian Government is ignoring OCI and POI's and depriving them an opportunity to exchange the hard earned money. I would like us to have an opportunity to do this exchange in the country we live now and also give an opportunity to those who can go to India to exchange at the dead line June 2017.

I want my hard earn cash back,

I have Rs worth of 2000 in old currency and request you time till June 2017 as I am oci .

Please allow a fair policy on old currency exchange. There are thousands of indians who have acquired foreign passport after or before demonitisation and hold old indian currency for various reasons such as frequent travel to india etc. We request indian government to extend this old currency exchange facility to foreign passport holders who hold OCI or PIO.

I have 5 thosands of Indian 500 and 1000 rupee notes left over from last trip in 2016. I was planning to go to India this month. But I heard OCI like myself and my wife cannot convert. This is strange since we thought we will be treated like Indian citizens except few rights like voting...

I am completely in support of this petition. I have approached many government agencies and the RBI several times to exchange old currency notes. However, nothing has worked. It is ridiculous that the government has issued an ordinance a day before the deadline to limit the exchange to only Indian citizens. For many of non-Indians, we have earned the money through legitimate means and should have every right to exchange it for the new notes.

Please allow oci card holders the same previlage as NRIs for exchanging the money. Please allow the exchange to happen at SBI locations outside India also.

I hold a PIO card , I regard myself as NRI. It's a con , and the government of India infromation has been misleading. I declared money at the airport was lol I can only exchange 25000ruppee, got the forms filled at customs was told to go to Mumbai RBI with the documents. I waited in the heat and was told no you have to have Indian passport. Modi what's the point of giving us these OCI or PIO cards and not recognise us as NRI . You just want our hard earned cash. Shame on you.
