Allow OCI / PIO to exchange Indian Rupees

I would like to change 500 rupee notes on my next visit to india.

It is unfair to treat oci snd pio unlike nris. Also we do not hoard black money but work hard abroad and use it when we are in india to spend. Also we carry indian rupees back to our adopted land just so that we can use it as soon as we land in India. Govt of india should not only allow oci to exchange old notes but give us enough time to exchange. Most of us visit india only once every 2-3 years. Gives us at least three years to exchange.

Left with 500 and 1000 INR currency like me there are many more. Provide some options for us to use this hard earned money.

Allow OCI card holders to exchange old notes.

I was able to become an OCI precisely because I was born an Indian, meaning an NRI. This discrimination is really unfounded. As an OCI I come regularly to India, and spend money there, helping Indian economy. Measure like this discourage us from coming to India

Please allow us to submit old notes. They are in the limit of 25k.

We all have legal currency. Govt needs to allow OCI's to exchange their old currency. Unconstitutional to deny people the right to exchange their legal currency.

Allow OCI holders to exchange old currency bills with new ones.

i always carry 10 to 15000 us dollars to india and declare at port of entry to indian customs. then i exchange it in India to indian currency to use it while in India. i have all the certificates from customs that i brought foreign currency in India. What to do with old left over currency of old denomination, please tell me

RBI should allow OCI/PIO card holders also to exchange the old INR currency notes of 500 / 1000.

It is unfair to treat OCI people not allowing to deposit their hard earned money in their country of residency. The GOI should reconsider and allow OCI to have facility to get exchange in the country of residency.

We do contribute to Indian economy hence government should allow us to exchange old notes.
