Its unfair to treat pios and oci s as foreigners when we visit India every year and contribute into Indian economy. please allow us to exchange our left over money

The booklet has declared that OCIs and PIOs have parity with NRIs in financial matters. Hence if NRIs are allowed to exchange their high denomination notes till June 30th it should be allowed for OCIs and PIOs too. Not to allow this is illegal. In the end , It will be beneficial to the GOI also as it is the OCIs who help to maintain Indias forein exhange reserve.

We pay house tax , electricity charges and come every year in January to keep in touch with our roots and relatives but are excluded from the purview of being able to exchange old currency, even as we were not in the country till 5 the January 2017

Please keep parity for OCI with NRI (as documented earlier) w.r.t old currency exchange. Since amount allowed currently for NRI is pretty small, make it simpler to do this exchange, instead of needing to go to 1 of 5 RBI in India.

Thank you for the petition. If OCI/PIOs are allowed to carry Indian currency outside of India, then they should be allowed to deposit their money too. Govt of India took a very wrong and unreasonable decision. Shame.

Unfortunately, India itslef is not considering the OCI / PIO as Indians.....you are right, everyone has Indian Rs. as needed for taxi, airport food and remainder kept for the next visit to India. Totally understand your point.

Which location did RBI accept your money, as currently they are not allowing anyone except Indian passport holder enter the premises in metro cities.
