The Deakins are a good solid shoe. My daughter walks to school in all weathers these shoes are ideal and are value for money. My other daughter who has since left the academy also wore these shoes it was never a problem then and it shouldn't be now! What are our kids supposed to walk to school in, no boots allowed they have to remove at school gates the Deakin is a good alternative still not ideal when there is snow on the ground but better than an open shoe and as there is no facility for storing winter boots it really shouldn't be a problem!
Parents cannot afford to keep replacing flimsy shoes, Deakins are sensible, support the foot and ankle well. These shoes should be encouraged and the health &safety of our children taken into consideration!

this rule is crazy!! How on earth is the kids learning disrupted if the shoes are on the ankle instead of under it!! Power crazy is all I can say about the person whose come up with that! Hope your feet are nice and warm in your winter boots while the kids are soaking wet and cold!!

Actually had to Google what these were, thinking they were like steel toe caps or something ridiculous, absolutely outraged that's they're a simple decent school shoe. I'll be thinking twice when it comes to my eldests highschool choices the head teachers new rules seem worse than prison and as ridiculous as my 3 year old imagination. Which is far out.

Think it's stupid that children can't wear these shoes this school needs to concentrate on their education not footwear!!

I think Deakins should be allowed especially in winter as boots are not and they keep the kids feet dry and warm.

My daughter was allowed to wear them.last year with no issue at all, suddenly the rules change. What happens in winter when all the kids are off school with cold because they are getting wet feet. Does the shoes they wear affect how they preform, this new head seems to think she can rule the world.

Why let them wear them all last year and then ban them this year?

Ridiculous rule. Maybe the teachers should be made to wear a uniform and set a good example to the students. Would be a big staff turnover if they were told what to wear!!

I will add that they have only banned the deakins ankle boots, not the shoes which are the same but go below the ankle. I think all Deakin are smart very well made comfortable shoes, never had a pair that's lasted a full year. The shoes the school have on their 70's style PowerPoint for girls are not suitable for British weather, yes they can change shoes at school but they don't provide lockers and expect kids to carry coats bags etc all day, so could not be carrying extra baggage. Come on morley academy meet the kids half way, I'm sure they are all going to be unhappy with the teachers due to this, I no my daughter is.
