In Tennessee, a minor can not get a tattoo. Even if a parent agrees on it. For people like me, who have an allergy to almost all metals, a tattoo is the only form of self expression. The government doesn't have the right to tell a parent that they can not allow their child to get a tattoo.

I honestly never thought this would gain this much momentum because I was just frustrated by the rules and needed a place to vent about my metal allergies. Seeing all these people agreeing that parents know best really makes me feel less alone in this.

I believe it is a right for a young adult to be able to express themselves the way they want to. It is not your body so why make someone else's choices

My parents are totally fine with it but the law keeps stopping us. Ridiculous that the gov thinks they know better than my own mom.
