Please let families decorate as they wish. Seeing a cemetery full of colour shows that even though our loved ones can sadly no longer be with us, we can still celebrate life. My thoughts are with all those that have been affected by this proposal.

So long as the graves can be maintained we should all be allowed to decorate the graves as we wish.

People own that piece of land so they should be allowed to keep how they want , it’s all part of grieving and it helps them with the loss of a loved one .

Let the families have their keepsakes on the graves it’s not hurting anyone. Whoever is responsible for this decision I have one question... how would you like it if your family were told they were not allowed to decorate your grave? It’s a way for the family to feel they are still part of them and you’re taking that away from them, that’s wrong and unfair.

Nobody should be able to dictate what can be done to someone's grave unless it was causing any harm to anyone else. Let families Grieve the way they need in order to find peace ! Disgusted by this

If these memorials bring condolence at a time of loss then please allow at Sileby cemetery. Providing the graves are tidy and do not cause offence to others then please allow.

I think this is lack of respect to those family’s of lost ones. Graves are a place where families can show respect, grieve and be closed to their loved ones. As long as the graves are well maintained there should be no reason why people cannot have their little rainbow gardens. Why take this away from people.... this is very heartless and the least we can do to support family’s and there losses.

People should be able to grieve in their own way, if this means having individual memorials to remember their loved ones they should be allowed xx

I hope the council will see sense. These memorials are a lovely way to remember loved ones and do not affect the maintenance in any way.
I hope this is all sorted and corrected for you and your family, Carly, along with all of the other families affected. x

I can only imagine this decision is to enable the contractor to cut the grass. What other reason could this be.

As my sister is buried in Sileby Cemetery, i feel aggrieved that the Parish Council can be so petty and upset already grieving relatives. Im sure thay have better things to justify their jobs
