Allow kneeling during the Communion Rite.

Dear Bishop Perez I ask with all due respect to reconsider your stance on the posture during Holy mass! Our Lord Jesus deserves our complete homage on our own knees and we deserve the right to ADORE HIM in True Meditation! We are not Protestants we are Catholics who believe in the Real Presance and He should be Adored properly! Thank you for letting me voice my feelings on this most important issue.

No one should be told how to prostrate themselves to the Lord our God. I cannot kneel any more but I would if I could! And those who are should not be shamed or looked at as being disobedient for doing so. God bless you and our families.

Please let the posture of kneeling at the Communion Rite

I humbly ask you to consider our petition. Our family has been standing in obedience to the bishop who we know God has placed over us. I ask in all reverence that you prayerfully consider our petition and allow us to kneel before Our Lord.

My husband and I are following Fr. Jay's obedience to your directive to stand while others are receiving Communion. But we do this with broken hearts that we are asked this. PLEASE consider unifying us with most other parishes in the US by allowing us to kneel.

The church of tomorrow (young Catholics) want to protect the tradition of the liturgy and are less inclined to make unwarranted changes as some may lead you to believe. Let's all kneel in unity.

This letter is excellent! This issue appears to be causing more confusion, disruption and less unity. Prayerfully reconsider where the focus and priorities are being placed.

Kneeling in prayer to adore Christ after receiving Him in Holy Communion is the most important part of my day. Indeed, I am never closer to God then in those brief moments. It does not seem appropriate to stand and wait for others to receive Holy Communion when my attention should be on union with Christ.. The reality of union with Christ in the Eucharist is greater than the symbolism of unity with other communicants.

Dear Bishop Perez, I know for a fact there is nothing stopping the faithful from kneeling after receiving the Lord, and that this is just supposed to be a sign of unity, "The prescription of the GIRM no.43, is intended, on the one hand, to ensure within broad limits a certain uniformity of posture within the congregation for the various parts of the celebration of Holy Mass, and on the other, to not regulate posture rigidly in such a way that those who wish to kneel or sit would be no longer free."---Cardinal Francis Arinze (former) Perfect for the Congregation for Divine Worship. I also know you stressed this on your radio show "Table Talks" on 1260TheRock. I know that you had good intentions for implementing this (ei more unity in our divided church) However, based on what I have witnessed, this implementing this rubric has done much more harm than good. This has led to much division and confusion as many Catholics feel that they are now forbidden or alienated when they kneel to show reverence, and many people now want all the faithful to stand. Division within our Church is especially dangerous in these trying times and should be avoided. Hope you re-consider, and return back to how it was done before this posture was implemented.
