Standing is a distraction. Kneeling, or sitting where there are no kneelers, allows me to become quiet and say additional prayers.

Standing is a further leveling of the mediocrity of the mass and irreverence toward the Eucharist.

To quote a popular Christian, not Catholic singer, Surrounded by Your Presence... or to my knees should I fall?"

Please reconsider your decision so that we may kneel immediately after receiving Our Lord. We wish to have unity with the other diocese in our nation and not be an outsider diocese.

There are so many good things from Vatican II that are not being implemented. For me, standing is a distraction to reflection on the Eucharist.

Kneeing in prayer after receiving Holy Communion, is a perfect "Thank You"

after receiving the body and blood of Christ I have always knelt. that is my time with god to adore him,and thank him for dying on the cross for me,it is a very personal time,i don't ever notice what anyone else is doing around me, that is there time with god.i am going to continue to honor and glorify god on my knees, showing conformity is not what I personally feel is right. we were taught at a very young age to kneel in church and to show respect, how is standing the way to teach our children to glorify god. I do regret this "stand" that the catholic church has taken, and forcing it upon your congregation to show"conformity" why does it have to be forced upon your people? I will remain on my knees, I know that god will see my adoration as "my way" to thank him for dying for me.

I agree wholeheartedly with this petition, Bishop Perez. In these times, more reverence for the Eucharist, not less, is needed.

Please reconsider the kneeling posture during communion and bring back reverence to our church. Standing should only be done in churches without kneelers or put kneelers in the newer churches that don't have them. Wrong mandated position for our already diminishing catholic society.

Thanks for considering. It is much easier to focus while kneeling. Otherwise I become distracted.

Dear Bishop Perez, Please consider this Petition. I can no long kneel, but it's only right to, and I would if I could. I always did even when some Churches Stand, I would Kneel. God Bless! Marge Svancara

Kneeling after all receive is impossible. Nearly everyone sits then, and there is no physical space left to kneel without being on the person sitting in front of you. Truly, we all ought to consider prostration if this is our God, but, considering space limitations, I think kneeling is an acceptable substitute. ;)
