Allow Dual Language Immersion Teachers into America!

Please give dual immersion teachers visas to allow them into the country. My children have benefitted so much from having Spanish teachers to learn the language rather than an American who has learnt Spanish at college or on their mission. It is so much better for language immersion

Allow work visas for dual language teachers!

There are benefits to learning a second language from a native speaker that are very difficult, if not impossible, to replicate with someone who is not a native speaker. If we are serious about national security supporting language immersion programs especially key languages like Mandarin is essential. I hope that President Trump will recognize this need and make it possible for the many language immersion programs in the U.S. to employ native speakers as teachers.

Please let out Dual Immersion teacher from other countries work in US, we need them.

I, myself, am an English Dual Language Immersion teacher and we are forever in need of qualified Spanish speaking teachers for our program. There just aren’t enough interested and able on the States. Please make this exception to allow our children this opportunity in our global economy!

As a French teacher, I understand how valuable these international teachers are to our community and how much they have to teach not only the students of this nation, but also their parents and other members of the community. As we see one another as members of a global community and find things in common, it will only strengthen our ties with the rest of the world. One of my dear friends taught Chinese in my school through this exact program. Although she is no longer in the US, we have a lifelong connection!

Now more than ever we need DL programs that help prepare students for our global world & a key component of DL programs are their high quality native/native like teachers!

We need native speakers for DLI programs!

I spent 29 years teaching French in middle schools. The value of learning a second language, especially in an immersion program, is incalculable. It opens children’s minds to a linguistically informed understanding of other cultures, their histories, their arts, their customs and their ways of navigating the world. Students become more proficient in their native language through the ability to compare it to the second language. And learning a second language helps kids become world citizens with a broad outlook on and eagerness for new experiences. Staffing dual immersion programs with native speakers is vital to the success of the programs. Please continue to allow our students to enhance their lives and learning by allowing teachers from around the world to enter the United States in order to continue our wonderful dual immersion programs.

Native speakers are essential to DLI programs!! We need them to be able to stay!

Our native language teachers bring not only language, but also culture to our classrooms and to our students. We need both and probably culture even more than language in this moment in history.

Time zones matter. Internet connectivity matter. It's hard enough to teach online without adding an extra dimension of possible problems. At this rate, an entire generation of students are going to be way behind. Let the teachers in.
