We want to petition the medical school and MTC to allow us to not only bring in therapy dogs onto Gibbet Hill, but also to bring our own dogs into the buildings. As medical students have the highest rate of mental health issues amongst all students, I think it's important we are allowed to access dogs for companionship and cuddles. Those of us who own dogs also don't want to leave them at home every day of the week alone whilst we study, so bringing them in for CBL or the such would also help their wellbeing.

Updates

November 17, 2017

The medical school administration can no longer pretend that our mental health needs are invisible. This momentum proves that we are done suffering in silence while they ignore our basic requests for support.

my dog gets so sad when i leave for a full day of lectures. it would make such a difference if he could just hang out under my desk.

we really need this. the stress is insane and having a fluffy friend nearby would help so much with the anxiety.

Medical school is brutal. A dog would honestly be the only thing getting me through the day.

Lots of companies* now have 'workplace dogs/cats,' to improve the working atmosphere for staff, so lets get with the times. *I only know of 2, but I don't have many friends, so figured there must be a bunch...
