The law has finally passed and divorce is now a reality for us. I am drained from this long haul but deeply relieved that we reached this end. May this change bring real freedom to those who were trapped for so long.
End the cast system and allow divorce in the Philippines as all other countries do. Annulment is way too costly for the average person and takes way too long. Allow for divorce on the grounds of irreconcilable differences, unfaithfulness, abandonment, abuse, failure to consumate, and the like. Please be sure to share on your walls.
Seeing this much momentum is exhausting but it keeps me moving forward. The weight of these stories is real and I refuse to let this issue fade into the background.

I want to be a free woman and re-marry. I deserve a second chance to have a better life. Annulment is too costly and the Philippine government officials are making money out of it. Only the rich can get the annulment done in 6months while others like those who don't have money to pay as much as 400-500k. Please give justice to people who have failed marriages!

How can a country which claims to be majority Catholic deny a right which causes such suffering and poverty when God permitted Moses to grant the right?
