Prevent the Closure of Allander Indoor Bowling Club

My parents use the bowling rink too. They're so disappointed. The Council benefit from the fees generated.

Bowling is one of the few sports that is for people of all ages, it’s more than a sport it’s a community and would be such a loss to the people of East Dumbartonshire, you should be trying to promote the game not shut it down. I have enjoyed playing there as a visitor for many years and would be sad to see it go.

This is a great community assets and should remain open for all of the local and further afield communities.

Please retain this vital resource to help protect and support some of our most vulnerable elderly

Money should be invested in facilities which keep the older generation active and provides social interaction. This is not what the community was promised

Disgrace that you are taking this away. The older generation need this as it is part of their social life and gets then out of the house.

This is a disgraceful decision that contradicts the promises made by EDC to ensure the retired community retained their bowling facilities with the new Allander Sports Centre. My father was a member since the opening of the centre and in the winter this was a lifeline for the community and should be retained as a right of access to services not a privilege!

I don’t think it is right to remove a facility that’s been there for so long and is perhaps the only social interaction some people have . Loneliness is the worst thing that can happen to someone and this could cause that very thing for sone members of our community

This Has been been a meeting place for not just the elderly but for the young who like Bowling Sport clubs are for all not just the young we have payed east Dunbartonshire council in the region of £50.000 + per year in fees for a poor amenity faulty lighting and no social facilities, there was agreement when the housing was being approved that all facilities would be the same but improved to a higher stranded yet again the councillors have let us down again sport are not just for the young . Are the elderly going to be confined to their house with no social connections

Please keep this valuable activity. It’s so important to promote health and well being! Especially considering all the benefits of exercise, keeping people fit and well along with including them in the local community!

C'mon east dunbartonshire keep the indoor bowling for the bowlers it's an integral part of the Allander.

We were told it was going to be a like for like centre...that includes the indoor bowls facility!
