This is a petition to the University of Edinburgh to provide a print credit machine in Alison House Music Department.
The students have to go the library to print their work if they have run out of credit, however as music students, often their work is in manuscript form, and/or has to be opened and printed off of Sibellius. The library computers do not support this program though, so it means a trip back and forth to print off work. If there is a tight deadline or the microlab is busy, it often means added stress and bother. As most other departments have a print credit machine in their building it seems unfair that the music students, although we pay fees to the university as well, are missed out and have to leave their department to put more credit on their print account.
This is a plea from the music students of Alison House to Edinburgh University. This petition is to display how many are affected by the lack of credit machine and how many it would benefit if one was installed.
I spent the morning talking to fellow students in the microlab and the frustration is palpable when they have to abandon their Sibelius projects just to find a machine for credit. I am currently reaching out to the department heads to show them exactly how much time we waste traveling back and forth. Thank you for continuing to show that this is a real problem for our daily work.

Seeing this level of support confirms that my fellow music students are just as frustrated by these constant trips to the library as I am. This momentum proves that we deserve the same access to equipment as every other department on campus.

Ridiculous that we have to trek all the way to the library just to add credit. It wastes so much time when rehearsals are already running late.

Sibelius computers in the lib are never working right anyway. Just put a machine in Alison House already!

Why are music students always an afterthought?

Honestly tired of running across campus just to print a single score. It makes no sense to not have one in our building.

Same issue every single week. It's not hard to install one machine.

PLEASE SORT THIS OUT. Too much stress during exam season with this printer nonsense.
