Alcohol Licence in Cassiobury Park

Who invented this ludicrous idea? Come spring and summer the drunks and drug users take over the parks...they leave empty perscription packs and those silver bottles lying about. My dog found a guy lying in long grass last summer. Groups of vagrants on benches drinking alcohol and being abusive to the public is not acceptable behaviour in the park eithe and a law should be passed to deter them from public spaces. .And now you want to add alcohol consumption to the mix until 11pm at night.... its a cafe not a public house!!.. Will rave parties be next!!

I do not understand why they need a alcohol license for a “cafe in the park” If granted I can only see more anti social behaviour affecting local residents.

This must not be allowed to happen. It will cause nuisance and danger to this using the park and those living in the surrounding areas, particularly by the entrances. There is no car parking available and revellers leaving after last orders will cause noise and disturbances. There will be a danger to children. There is n way that help can be summoned in the event of unruly behaviour. 1100 - 2300 hours is totally out of order.

I do not think that this is at all appropriate. Most people using this facility need to use cars to get to the park so there is a risk of drink / driving and the general nuisance of noise / debris is inappropriate in this location.

We have many fine pubs and wine bars available we do not need alcohol in a children's playground the two really do not go together

We have a drug problem in the park we do not need added alcohol issues. This mix will cause more crime.

I use this Park and pools with my 3 special needs children. I think it is disgraceful they want a license to sell alcohol on the premises. There will be no safe places for our children to go to in Watford. Parks are already being destroyed by alcohol and drugs as it is, we can't let that happen to a pure beautiful family based Park!

Extremely worried about alcohol being sold, pub hours in the park by the children's play area.

There are enough wine bars and public houses in Watford without licensing one in a park of natural beauty that serves the local community for a family venue. The problem with litter, alcohol and drug use is prevalent now and not controlled. The increased availability will only add to this. Who will monitor the exits of the park when patrons leave after closing time.?

The licence application is totally inappropriate for an area designated as a family friendly and child orientated area.

The Cassiobury Park hub building cafe and paddling pools were as far as I was aware for the use of young children and somewhere for a family visit. I cannot see any necessary reason for alcohol to be sold there.

I fear that the granting of a licence would increase noise levels for local residents.
