Alcohol Licence in Cassiobury Park

Not sensible to have alcohol on sale next to a children's play area.

A license would be wrong on so many levels. Wrong to have it near a children's area and wrong to allow drinking in the park at night which could lead to noise and anti social behaviour.

Cllr Fallon is correct, alchohol and chidren playing / paddling pool do not mix.

A licence to serve alcohol will cause unruly behaviour, even if limited to beer and wine. Recent LD literature indicates they will cave in for the usual reasons. The venue has never served alcohol and is 5 mins walk from Watford Grammar School for Boys. For the sake of community harmony, a licence should never be granted.

Certainly do not support this application in its current form, to many hours and unsuitable locations. If any license is granted it should be for specific shortened hours an only in specific places away from children and if that is not possible then no license at all!

Totally agree alcohol shouldn’t be served around areas where children prodiminately play! Alcohol affects behaviour in such a negative way and something no child should need to witness/encounter - I certainly don’t want my children to encounter drunken behaviour when they’ve gone to the park for a fun day out!

A great deal of money has been spent on additional facilities in the park. A much improved playground; the Cha Cha cafe with cakes and sandwiches; a bandstand; a new paddling pool; the Hub building and Nature Reserve. All very family orientated and tasteful. Now what? The proposed sale of alcohol in Daisy's for a grand total of 77 hours per week? What an utter lack of logic. This will drive away the very people for whom millions of pounds have been spent in the name of family and child friendliness and entertainment; and in turn, Cassiobury Park will become a well and truly Louts' Paradise.

This licence application is too broad. Booze with music and performers, 11am to 11pm, 7 days a week - adjacent to kids' play area. Even the pubs don't don't serve for such long hours.

There are many places within the town for those who wish to consume alcohol. I believe that the presence of licensed premises in the park will preclude some groups of users from the vicinity at all and will fundamentally alter the atmosphere and safety of the park. In addition, parking is likely to cause problems for residents not to mention the high potential for anti-social behaviour especially noise levels and bad language from those who consume too much not only when in the park but as they return to vehicles. This will be particularly bad in summertime when residents will have more windows open.

A park is not a place for a licensed premises

There is no good reason why an alcohol licence is necessary. It's a totally inappropriate location

May as well stick nail in the coffin with them crappy pools and eyesore hub!

The application for an alcohol licence by Jams Kitchen Ltd is ill-conceived. Granting the alcohol licence will be the cause of harm by the Council, to locals and other park users, for the reasons given by petitioners.

Alcohol by a play area and paddling pools? No no no as a resident of Cassiobury this is shocking!

There is no need to sell alcohol in a park where young children play it is not acceptable
