I personally would not want to be transported to Austin while not feeling good/in labor/just had baby/had emergency surgery. Because that is what a hospital is for taking you in in emergencies or a time of need and taking care of you. Not just here's a bandaid go to Austin.

Don't let Mayo do to the Albert Lea Medical Center & Hospital dwindle, like Mayo- Mankato Campus did to the Fairmont Campus, stressing their doctors and specialty service personnel. Now is the time to band together, stand up and be heard. Tell Mayo that they are wrong, and that we, the people ofAlbert Lea, want our hospital and clinic back, so that we can forge our own destiny. Bigger is not always better. What we have is not what was promised. Lets correct a wrong!

In patient care and emergency services are important. Certainly hoping they can stay in Albert Lea.

City of Albert Lea needs to do more to ensure we all have the best medical care possible. It would be huge loss to this city and would most certainly be a turn off when choosing a place to live and possibly drive out existing residents as well. I hope this gets resolved because Albert Lea would suffer greatly.

Please keep our in-patient services here in Albert Lea. If you really think about the hospital to converge services to, it should be TO Albert Lea. Those who live in Austin can come this way or they would go straight to Rochester anyway. Those who live in the balance of Mower Co already probably go to Rochester in the first place. Albert Lea could better serve western Mower County and Austin as well as all of Freeborn Co. What about those from northern IA who doctor here in Albert Lea, they are not going to choose Austin, they'll go to Mason City. Albert Lea needs this economic boost. Don't take it away!

The hospital is critical to our community and I would hate to see it go.

I am very disappointed in Mayo's decision to remove services from Albert Lea. If I need emergency care, I won't be headed to Albert Lea OR Austin. My father got the worst care ever as a patient in Austin, we will not be going back there.

Keep the hospital here .for the people that lives here that needs the care they need. Instead of making them go somewhere else

When my husband was at Good Samaritan here, he needed to go to the hospital in ICU. They transported him by ambulance and our family Dr. found out his problem. I could visit him everyday and did not need transportation. Think of all the emergency situations that are handled best right in our home town.

I am very disappointed with the decision to tamper with a necessity to this community. I will not go to Austin for services that were available here. I think this is just a ploy to break the nurses' union. Keep services here or pay for the ride to Austin for patients that need to be hospitalized.

What was their reasoning for taking him to Austin?

Don't change our medical services in our Naeve Mayo Hospital. I don't want to be driven miles away for a hospital stay when we have it right here in Albert Lea. Who is going to pay for that new RIDE ? My taxes are already too high after going up another $100 this year.

We NEED to keep these services local for the wellbeing of the patience and our community.
