Both of my parents worked at the clinic and Naeve Hospital before, during, and after it was taken over by Mayo. They were very opposed to allowing Mayo to take over. I guess more people should have paid attention to the employees who were against this years ago and we wouldn't be in this situation today.

The community has spoken and it is very obvious that we need/want/deserve to keep our current hospital as is for Albert Lea to survive and grow.

I believe that we need to continue to maintain the hospital right here, as it is, and Austin needs to keep theirs. Neither one of these areas are close enough to the other to have to be running back and forth.
You have to remember that there are quite a few, smaller, towns that use the Albert Lea facility that are not able to add the extra miles on because of the changes that Mayo is wanting to changed.
I am very frustrated because I feel that we have been hood-winked by Mayo. Why all the secrecy behind the changes? What are you, Mayo, hiding? This has been so unfair to ALL of us.
How are we, that are less fortunate than others, having to look at paying so much more by having to take an ambulance to Austin? Is Mayo going to pay for our travels? It certainly isn't fair that our State has to pay for it. This is way too unfair to our communities.

Losing our inpatient services will be detrimental to the community as well as the surrounding communities. I have seen on more than one occasion when the hospital was full, Austin was full, and very sick patients were waiting in ER for long periods of time because there were no beds available. What will it be like now when this loss happens? How is that "Putting the Needs of the Patients First".

We are a community that needs and is big enough for a hospital. So many issues without having any hospital services here in albert lea. I would NEVER have made it to austin to have either of my children. I like the idea of looking into other private options and getting rid of mayo.

Our community deserves for our full service hospital to remain intact. It is whatthis community has always supported...it is what Mayo assured us we would continue to always have. The proposed changes put our most vulnerable at risk of losing immediate access - those being the senior citizens and the young families who need obstetrical access HERE...not 25 miles down the road! Our community will not survive the depletion of services that is proposed.
