Alan Baxter's loss of his Olympic medal was a travesty of justice which, even at this late date, should be corrected.

Anyone who has looked into Alain's case (and I encourage you to do so) can see that this was a genuine error which is universally accepted by the experts to give no or negligible benefits. He suffered loss at the hands of a dogmatic decision largely driven by testimony of a US expert who - let's face it - has turned out not to have the cleanest record of consistency when it comes to use of drugs in sport.

Having been cleared and exonerated by the IOC there is identifiably no evidence why Alain should not have his medal returned

Not to take anything away from Jenny Jones. but, Alain Baxter was not only robbed of his bronze, he was robbed of his career and legacy as the best ski racer we have ever produced. For what? A cold nasal spray with the wrong active ingredient in it. This has always been a ridiculous decision and needs to be overturned.

I am fiercely against performance enhancing drugs cheats but in this one instance I truely believe there has always been a miscarriage of justice.

One of the most outstanding and talented athletes that Scotland will ever produce. Total dedication to his sport. There will be very few in this world who will know or appreciate the work that Alain put in on and off the snow to get him on that Podium. It was no surprise to anyone on the race circuit that he made the podium. The surprise was that it hadnt come sooner.

it was a genuine mistake and the amounts so small even had it been intentional were not enough to give an advantage

I was so chuffed when he won, and simply didn't accept his disqualification.
