I visit this beach at least 1 month a year while I watch my brother's house WHILE HE IS ON VACATION! He's introduced me to the beach and if love for it to remain the same...we need the parking, family life, and uncrowded beach !

Plain common sense needs to prevail here, not an unnecessary change that will decrease green space for locals, but encourage unsafe shared-usage of the makai side of Ala Moana Drive.

Do not waste a single penny on "fixing" Ala Moana until you FIX some of the ACTUAL problems in Honolulu, such as the sewage system that is falling apart, low income housing that is still waiting to be built, roads that are falling apart, etc.

No remodel! Better to invest in upgrading and maintaining existing bathrooms, manage and eliminate overflowing waste receptacles and put hinged, permanent lids so trash doesn’t blow to the beach, and rats....well, need I say more? Upgrade, maintain enforce appropriate use of outdoor/beach showers, such as laundry soaps, shampoos, dish soaps and food clean up not appropriate use and nobody pays attention to signs. Maybe install large utility sinks and add and maintain more charcoal disposal pits. Enforce the no smoking policy. Yes it should stay the people’s park but the people need to take some responsibility as it is their home away from home, and may need a little assistance to keep it orderly. Reduction of grass areas, widening sidewalks and installing more unsafe, perpendicular parking do not address the problems of this park, and more development kills it. Yes, Ala Moana needs improvement and maintenance but the envisioned plan is not consistent with the needs of the community. Back to the drawing board!

Visual is also environmental and current architectural drawings will create mini Southern California at Ala Moana Beach Park. Please do not let it happen! We must preserve this small amount of local flavor remaining in the Kaka‘ako-Ala Moana area for Hawai‘i’s people. Go back to the drawing board and create a vision appealing to us locals.

I oppose changes to the grass strip and parallel parking spaces. This is key to the local environment of Ala Moana Beach Park.

There is not enough foot traffic or even biki bike traffic to justify widening the promenade. No matter if its morning, noon or late evening. We know the money can go to better things like education. We should put more charcoal waste pits on both sides of our park so that the bbq'ers have a place to dump their charcoal. Instead of next to the tree trunks or using the showers to put out their fires. This is just one of the reasons why the grass on the ocean side is not growing. And please bring back the shower closer to the ewa side of the high rise where it was before. It certainly makes no sense to have a short little water faucet in the back of our middle life guard stand where we have to always bring our own hoses anyway. Thank you for listening

The changes will be giving a negative impact on the park, where things will get crazier. Please keep the park a calming area to get away from the city

Can't maintain what's there now. Why change what people enjoy.
