The dress code does very little but restrict expression, teach submission to authority, homogenize the student population, and add an extra expense to our budgets. Attending high school is a necessary step in becoming successful, meaning that we have little choice but to attend and then we have to wear a uniform that we don't like for four years. If we don't have money for both regular clothes and our uniforms, we're expected to wear the uniform outside of school. This means that many people who have little money but want to be successful must wear the uniform not only in school, but outside of school as well. Get rid of uniforms. Allow facial piercings. Going to high school shouldn't prevent people from wearing clothes of their choice or having piercings.

I personally don't like the uniform dress code. They're expensive, hard to find, uncomfortable and you still have to buy regular clothes. So essentially you're buying 2 wardrobes.

I don't go there anymore but I agree. I get to wear what I want now and I don't have to worry about what jacket or hoodie I can wear so I'm not cold anymore in class

I completely agree with the statement and think the kids that attend the school deserve more freedom and diversity in their clothing.

I do not think that uniforms should be required at our school. Bullying still occurs due to the shoes or brands that you have. I feel like we should be able to express who we are as a person, not be concealed by some uniform policy.

I think uniforms should not be required for us because I feel that we should be able to express ourselves with what we wear to school.

I currently go to South rowan and I can definitely say, after being in uniforms for 3 years of middle school, I have saved so much money being able to dress in what I already have. I dont worry about colors anymore and surprisingly, NOBODY get bullied o:

I agree, school uniforms can be expensive and I understand it's to help us when we're older and getting a job to dress professionally but we have used uniforms for such a long time. It hasn't helped with bullying so why do we need to dress professionally all the time ? we the students are about to have to dress to a certain dress code when we have job and some students already have to because they have a job.
