Petition to East Bay Regional Park District to accelerate fuel load reduction in East Bay Hills

TIlden Park is a powder keg waiting to go off. Fuel reduction in the East Bay Hills is critical.

Let's try to mitigate one disaster in this area. Can't predict earthquakes, but we can try to mitigate fires by using preventive methods.

Our hotter, drier, longer Summers, fueled by our short but wet Springs, requires a more aggressive and proactive posture.

Please spread the word about this petition. We must aggressively reduce the fuel load in Wildcat Canyon beginning immediately. I agree that the non native stand of eucalyptus trees should be greatly reduced as it poses the single most significant threat to our community.

Fires have always been a fact of life in this beautiful area. Now that is even more true than ever, and the fires promise to be deadly. We must take needed steps to reduce fuel.

This is a matter of our survival. Losing our homes would be utterly devastating, even if we're all safe. The fuel loads have become suicidally gigantic through poor planning and just not paying attention. We must not accept failure in this.

We live at Lake Drive and Kenyon and strongly support this initiative.

Reduce the fuel load, and get our power lines underground. Expensive, yes, but compared to the loss if we don't ? We're crazy not to.

Thank you to whoever started this petition. With all the hard work on the Old School trail, etc, there is still much to be done.

I keep reading that the state has a $21 bn budget surplus, so I hope that funds can be found for this. Thank you.

As a former wildland firefighter, I strongly support this effort. First priority should be to remove the non-native eucalyptus groves.

Reducing the fuel load in the park areas near Kensington should be a critical priority.
