Definitely! I wrote a letter to the editor once with proposing this, only to get rejected for publishing because they argued that they lived here for so long & are considered Alaskans & didn't want it to hit media. They were even arguing with me, craziness. Glad someone did the homework part of it.

I agree...for those born in Alaska and are living here full time...im tired of snowbirds getting it too...you should have to live here through the winter like the rest of us. ;)

People moving here has nothing to do with the crime rate. What does have to do with the crime rate is home many people have 12 guns just because and the lack of child discipline now a days and how 9 out of 10 adults in the villages and else where spend most of the time drunk and high leaving that example for the youth because they think they are I titled to that life style because it's how mom and dad are. It is the example left by so called "role models" that has boosted the crime rate not people who move here. And how about the culture you created teaching girls at a young age that if the get raped by a drunk fool it's their fault and shunning them for it instead punishing the rapist. It's these kinds of things that have cause more crime. The culture created teaching children at a young age that they're not responsible for the crime the have committed but the victim's fault.

I agree. There's too many outsiders that moved here and now crime rate has made this state most dangerous place to live.
