As a local native I say it's about time we get what's rightfully owned by us on our territory and not by the greedy coming up here for one reason. Thank you who put this petition up

I was born in Alaska 21 years ago. My mother moved to Alaska when she 1968 when she was 9. My father spent some time up here in the Military and then made Alaska his forever home in 1981. Both of my parents love Alaska and have made it their home. If it wasn't for them I wouldn't have been born into this state. It would be hurtful, and ludicrous to take away their PFD. Without the money of the PFD they wouldn't be able to afford the fuel prices or have the chance to go out of state to visit family. They would move. I would move. People can't choose where they were born, but they can choose where they make their home.

I agree with this petition: I feel that too many outsiders abuse the dividend and it should only be given to those that are born in the state.

Honestly, you people are all just greedy. I've lived in the state for 21 years, and my father moved up because of the scenery. A $1000 check each year isn't enough to justify living here regardless of who you are. I don't care if I get a PFD or not, it's got nothing to do with why I'm in the state. The fact that so many of you are ecstatic at the thought of this change only because it benefits YOU is a sign. How many would have signed this if "Alaskan" only meant an Alaska Native? How many would have signed if it meant only those with pure native blood? How many if you had to be in a full blooded Alaskan Native that lives in a village? Yeah, some people move up for the check, but how can you call them the greedy ones when all you seem to care about is getting a larger PFD by disenfranchising a good portion of those currently eligible for it? The fact of the matter is, unless you are a full blooded Alaska Native, your ancestors most likely made their way to Alaska for the same reasons you are accusing new residents of.

I do believe that PFDs should only be for people who were born right here not all these people coming to Alaska just for free money maybe if we cut PFDs to only Alaskans maybe we can bring back some of the money for the non Alaskan born people for our schools roads or things this state needs.

I had no control over where I was born. I was born on American soil in Germany. I have been here since I was two months old.

this is a crock. I have been a resident 24 years. My child was born and raised here. Just not right.

For all of you saying "alaskan born" only, I say shame on you! As I'm pretty sure that with 49 years of residency, I have been here LONGER than most of you that are taking the time to sign this assinine petition. I have lived, worked and raised my family in this great state, and my not being born in it does not change that fact that I AM Alaskan. THINK before you disrespect our long term population.
