This would be nice if it went through because there are quite a few of people that only live up here in the spring/summer times and then move back down to the Lower 48 for winter.

I have always struggled understanding why everyone who has been living in Alaska for over a year can qualify for a dividend, it should be Alaskan Born residents. We are Alaskans, and most likely won't leave the state because this is our home, our land.

Should be born in AK. Or be here at least 10 years to qualify.

Okay so according to your "rules" I still qualify since I married an "Alaskan" and my children were born here. But seriously you think that only those born in Alaska should get the dividend? So you can be born here and live somewhere else and still get it? How the heck does that make any sense? What about people like me who weren't born here yet brought her as a child and have continued to live here and raise a family because I love Alaska. Also the dividend has NOTHING to do with Alaskan Native culture it was created totally for the oil boom! Instead of targeting people that weren't born here maybe you should be targeting people that still claim residency yet live in another state!!!

Definately agree, we all pay taxes, no matter where we live, no way around it. Too many people living in Alaska., Also, crime everyday.

I was born in Alaska May 10, 1963 but moved when I was 18 months old and have not had the opportunity to return. I do think that the money should be distributed to people that were born in Alaska

As a born and raised Alaskan I belive that we are entitled to this benifit only. There are people who move here because, as they put it "THe state pay's you to live here" also the higher welfare rates cmpared to teh rest of the USA. People looking for free money often bring the worse sort (my opinion) of people around. The PFD is becoming smaller becaue there are too many people to pay. I also think that People who are born in Alaska and joined the armed forces should remail eligible for teh PFD, as well as people who marry someone in the armed forces. I don't have too many strong political issues but this one really gets me! Let's keep Alaska, Alaska! And what is meant for Anaskans for Alaskans, not any one who shows up at teh door step of Alaska!
