Yes I'm born and raised here in Alaska so has my family for generations. And also my daughter. The PFDS should only be for Alaskans. Even for ppl who are married to alaskans. Our pay out for PFDS would be so much bigger if the narrow the application down to Alaskan native and there spouses

I see where the author of this petition is coming from but to say you need to be born in Alaska is a little extreme. I'm 22 years old and have lived in Alaska all 22 years (with the exception of being away to attend college.) A piece of paper saying your birth place is Alaskan does not necessarily make you "alaskan." So you can move away and come back and still get the PFD? That defeats the whole purpose. There has to be an in between. It's not hard to tell who comes for the PFD and who doesn't. Just because my parents brought me back home to Alaska at 3 days old where they had already been living with my older brother doesn't make me any less "Alaskan" than someone who was born in alaska.

I wasn't born in Alaska, I lived here for almost ten years, but I don't understand why it has taken this long to do this. Honestly it should have always been like this.
