Due to the poor performance of the Texas A&M football team during the tenure of Coach Mike Sherman, highlighted by losses to such teams as Arkansas State, Baylor and Kansas State, we the undersigned request that Coach Sherman and Bill Byrne voluntarily resign from their respective positions at Texas A&M, effective immediately. Further, we, the current and former students of Texas A&M University should let it be known that although our admiration and love of our school is eternal, our tolerance for mediocrity is not. We have therefore prepared the following grievances that we shall cite as evidence for our request: 1. For failing to expand the coaching search for a flagship school of Texas beyond a single interview. 2. For preying on the just loyalties of the fans by raising the price of tickets in a manner that is not proportional to the product. 3. For allowing an unproven former NFL coach with no college experience to have a 7 year contract with no option of buyout. 4. For allowing the football program, the icon of our athletic department, to sink into irrelevance.
