The refereeing decisions made by Ref Martin Atkinson today in the Chelsea Vs Burnley game at Stamford Bridge were beyond appalling. Ashley Barnes should have been warned earlier for his Challenge on Ivanovic. Which means that he should have also been sent off subsequently for the career threatening, stud showing lunge on Nemanja Matic .The ref also missed to award a couple of clear penalty shouts. To miss all this shows so poorly on the deteriorating quality of refereeing in the Barclays Premier league. Is this what the FA calls elite referees.?..baffles me. This petition calls for the immediate removal of Ref Martin Atkinson from the elite panel of referees for the rest of the season and relegated to refereeing in the championship. If teams can be relegated cos of consistently being poor so should referees.

The scale of this reaction shows I am not alone in feeling exhausted by these repeated failures on the pitch. This momentum keeps me going even when the situation feels stagnant.

Martin Atkinson's well below required standard performance today has cost us not only potentially 2 valuable points but we will now miss one of our most valuable player's for three matches which include a cup final but could have also put Matic's season in jeopardy by failing to punish Barnes who appeared intent on causing the serious damage to the a couple of Chelsea players this afternoon!
Martin Atkinson has no business refereeing in any league. His consistently poor judgement not only creates tension in the games, but his failure to take firm actions will inevitably cause serious injuries to players, and even end their careers due to such injuries.

Unbelievable rolling around and yelping like a girl to get a fellow professional sent off...... Ivanovic, bow your head in shame. Matic and Barnes was a coming together of 2 committed players, it was the angle Matic challenged from which caused the coming together, Barnes leg didn't deviate from the angle it was moving to clear the ball, therefore, no intent just a coming together caused by the timing of the challenge. I see there's been no mention of Oscars challenge down the Achilles of Danny Ings, or the fact that Heaton put the ball out of play to allow Ben Mee (not a player to feign injury) treatment, only for the "Classless" Chelsea not return the ball, instead they tried to profit from the injury to a fellow professional........ All very poor sportsmanship! And all this because the Russian plaything couldn't beat a small town club from Lancashire....... PRICELESS !!!!
I suggest Chelsea fans take off their blue tinted spectacles and watch the tackle again. Matic was the offender. Love the way Ivanovic rolled around and squealed like a stuck pig trying to get a fellow professional booked too, then jumped up as though nothing happened when he didn't get his way. Stay classy Chelsea, stay classy. You're a joke club!

spurs fan, one of the worst refereeing display ive seen this side of the millenium. Awful awful awful referee who shouldn't be refereeing the premier league anymore, isn't good enough.
