Give the kids more time to get to class . if lunch detention happens they shpuld be allowed food from home because what if they dont eat schools food . educate and help them prepare for thevworld as an adult not punish and torture thats why they become so rebellious

It's not in the best interests of the students. It's just gonna be another thing to worry about which isn't healthy. It's not right to make students afraid of doing something wrong, they should be allowed to make mistakes and learn from them.

This policy seems WAY over the top, especially as it affects the students' ability to eat lunch. Surely there are other ways of dealing with tardy issues.

Graduated in 2010. Sad to see this trend continuing. Jr yr I watched a hall monitor pull my classmate back into the hall as the bell was ringing and he has walking in the door. He was sent down to office for similar BS and returned at the end of the class period having missed the entire lesson. The tardy policy is said to be in benefit of students learning, but how did that help this kid or any kid pulled away from lessons. What happened to the days of teachers just marking kids tardy and taking care of it outside lesson time? This is a power trip.
