Against the SMHS Tardy and Lunch Policies

this Byzantine and arcane policy has no place in an institution of learning

Ridiculous and unfair.

This is crazy, I was at the HS and didn’t have to deal with the idea of being tardy then having to use the WHOLE lunch for punishment, I was a busy person at the HS During lunch and to take that away is just NOT cool!

I seriously just wished it was all how it was not with unnecessary bs

I don’t go here but this seems pretty unreasonable

I f a student arrives tardily in the morning and the doors are locked, he or she might just return home and call in sick. This policy makes no sense, however, this is just the kind of thing that I expect from a school district which has no competent adult leadership.

This is an insane policy! The work force allows for breaks and time to eat why wouldn't we want the same for our future adults!!!

Preach

SMHS has already gotten rid of the 6 minute passing periods and decreased it down to 5. Going from 6th to 7th period I have to make it from the band hall to my physics class and both are in the very back corner of the hallway on opposite and diagonal sides of the school. After getting released from class, I have to pack up my instrument and walk all the way to my next class within 5 minutes. I always cut through the courtyard and every single day y’all monitors and teacher yell at me to get to class as I am literally walking there. What else do they want me to do? I hardly ever make it on time and when I do, I’m walking through the door right as the bell is ringing. And when it’s raining outside or I have to use the restroom (you know, one of the things passing period is supposed to be used for) there is no way I am able to make it to class on time. Loosen up SMHS. This school feels more and more like a prison everyday

As a person who loves attending school for both the social and educational benefits. I find that both of these things are being deminished by the downright idiotic policy’s being implemented by both the schools administration and the school district.

I as a 2nd year student of SMHS would agree to say that these rules have gone completely out of hand.

There new rules are extremely over the top and very unnecessary.

I’m a high schooler my self and this is honest.
