This truck stop will ruin our quiet town. We need to concentrate on the downtown and rebuild it. Let’s add some restaurants and businesses not a truck stop that will bring pollution and a unsafe environment to our community.

Short term gain for long term pain. This is just the beginning the (TS) truck stop advocates are selling out our community. If the TS is built we can expect our I57 exit to look just like Monee’s. Who wouldn’t want up to 200 diesel trucks idling all night and much of the day ( to run heat & A/C) that can’t bad for our air quality, sorry asthmatics better move up wind. If you watch the video of the presentation to the board you will notice even thought this has been in the works for a long time the presentation was not on the agenda for that night. How does an item of this scale get added last minute? Can you say ramrod, the presenter requested expedited response time because the permits were going to expire soon. How long has this been in the works?

We have too many trucks now using Peotone/Wilmington Rd.
If they want to improve our town start with downtown. Bring in new business.

Please for the safety of our community and our children I hope there will never be a truck stop! I live here because I like Peotone just the way it is!!!

These semi trucks in large numbers, coming, going and idling emit pollutants into the air and contaminate air and soil. Pollution can take the form of chemical substances and energy such as noise, heat and light. Pollutants are the components of pollution, and can be either foreign substances/energies or naturally occurring contaminants. Pollution is often classed as point source or nonpoint source pollution. In 2015, pollution killed 9 million people in the world. This Truck Stop will introduce many forms of major pollutants including: Air pollution, light pollution, Littering, noise pollution, plastic pollution, soil contamination, thermal pollution water pollution to name a few.
I feel that a truck stop in Peotone will make the ramps to 57 worse than it already is. Especially since there will not be any traffic signals put in. I feel that a stop sign is going to make traffic back up to where cars will not be able make a left turn without being able to clearly see if it's clear.
I also feel that it is going to bring crime such as drugs, prostitution, etc. We do not have crime in our town right now that is like the crime that Monee has.
The pollution is also another issue with trucks running nonstop.

Terrible idea...this will lower property values and bring crime. It’s amazing to me that this is even being entertained!

We don't need a truck stop. There is a huge truck stop in our neigboring town just 6 miles to the north.
