Against Rezoning of 4820 Roblin

stop taking away all the beautiful land in Charleswood! That's why I moved here!

I oppose potential development

I am concerned about the traffic near the Dieppe school and the Dippe/Roblin intersection. I am also concerned about the precedence in changing the type of development in the Charleswood neighbourhood.

I am deeply concerned about the increased traffic in front of the school and at the Dieppe / Roblin intersection.

As a Charleswood resident, I feel that a 3 or 4 story complex is most out of character. Many of us have chosen to live in the area because of the natural feel that the neighbourhood has managed to preserve. A 64+ unit on this small parcel of land seems completely inappropriate. I cannot imagine that those voting in favour of this development would support a plan for a new apartment complex looking right down into their backyards.

I am opposed to the rezoning of 4820 Roblin Blvd and 521 Dieppe Rd. to "Residential Multi Family". As a parent of children at Ecole Dieppe, the prospect of having increased traffic in the area is of huge concern to me. Currently, the traffic congestion before and after school on Dieppe Rd. (an unpaved road with ditches) is terrible. I challenge our city councillors and all in favour of this development to visit the area at 8:45am or at 3:30pm and imagine what it would look like with traffic increased by 30, 60 or even 100 vehicles . The prospect of any increased traffic from a multi family dwelling should be of concern to every Ecole Dieppe parent.

I oppose this huge development in that it is completely out of character with the area that is residential. It will also create a potential hazard for the children that attend Dieppe School.

I'm opposed to inserting a multi-story multi-unit into this quiet residential neighbourhood. While the address is on Roblin, the site in question is actually substantially south of Roblin, and is flanked by detached, single family homes on three sides. This is an unreasonable and inappropriate chance to the character of our quiet, semi-wooded neighbourhood. The driveway to and from the proposed 64- unit development would be accessed via Dieppe (not Roblin), directly opposite a primary school. Dieppe is an unpaved residential (and primary school) street flanked by ditches, without any curbs.

I am opposed to the idea of turning our beautiful hood into a low income area! Stop building ugly stucco buildings in our beautiful neighbourhoods! They kill our view, block sun from our gardens and increase sketchy people stalking our streets! Preserve Charleswood charm! Keep the condos out! If our city planners had any sense they would be building these condos downtown to revive our cities dead center!

I am opposed to the rezoning of 4820 Roblin. Right across from the school, we dont need to have increased traffic in a school zone. It is already pretty tight there to get in and out everyday with drop off and pick ups.

Seniors' Housing is badly needed in Charleswood, but there is many better places to build without destroying a residential neighbourhood.

As others have stated this proposed condominium does pose safety issues due to increased traffic in a school zone. Also I agree that it will not fit the character of the neighbourhood. People moved to charleswood specifically for it's safe, charming and small town vibe. It's forested areas which provide privacy and allow you to appreciate nature.. Without your view being cluttered by some monsterous eyesore.. I mean condo.

This development is totally out of context with the surrounding area. There is no need to build a 60+ condo at this site. There is plenty of room in other empty locations in Winnipeg (and in Charleswood) for the proposed buidling without affecting the neighbourhood, neighbours and nature. Stop a city been run by developers! Listen to the taxpayers for once! Let common sense prevail!

I am against rezoning this property. It is a safety issue for an already crowded and overworked entryway into the existing school. To add more to traffic to that would be a logistical nightmare for the bus drivers/school administrators and hazardous to pedestrians and vehicles alike. Also changing the zoning to accommodate multiple dwelling sets a bad precidence. I believe that there is room for this type of development in the other recently rezoned area. I believe it is unkind to the surrounding residents who are not in favour of having a three story complex overlooking their back yards given the quiet nature of the neighbourhood.

This development is totally out of context with the surrounding area. Our roads in this area cannot handle the current traffic, let alone another possible 120 cars. There is no need for this developement in this area. There are already enough condo/life lease developments in Charleswood to more than service the area. The children of Dieppe School will be put in danger by this development.
