AGAINST REZONING OF LAND AT THE CORNER OF THOMASVILLE ROAD AND KERRY FOREST PARKWAY FROM CHURCH TO COMMERCIAL USE

We the undersigned strongly oppose the rezoning of land at the corner of Thomasville Road and Kerry Forest Parkway from church to commercial use (Northampton Addition PUD, PRZ170002). The proposed strip mall is an attack on the aesthetics of the Kerry Forest community, the quality of life and property values of the residents of the adjacent neighborhoods of St. Ives and Mint Hill, and it will negatively impact all residents of surrounding neighborhoods through a poorly planned traffic pattern that will cause hazards and gridlock for people driving on Kerry Forest Parkway at the corner of Thomasville Rd.

I have finalized the formal grievance letter regarding traffic safety concerns and sent it to the City Planning Department. Their office requested additional documentation on the impact to the St. Ives access point which I am currently compiling with the help of a neighborhood planning expert. Expect a summary of their official response later this week.

A strip mall in that area would be a complete travesty! I would not feel comfortable sending my young child to Annsworth if a strip mall were to pop up.
This is a assault on the residents that own a home in the area. They would be surrounded by noise and commercial chaos. What a sad state of affairs for our city to see our residents and their right to live in peace is so easily overlooked. All in the name of consumption.
PLEASE do NOT approve this!! My children play in this neighborhood all the time and they won't be able to with this proposed development. The street will be too busy for riding bikes and skooters.
That area does not need another commercial development what with a super center, car wash, drug store, and strip center already at the corners. Traffic is already heavy there and does not need more congestion.
Strongly opposed to rezoning of this property. It will cause additional traffic congestion along Kerry Forest Parkway, etc. and be a burden to our St. Ives Lane subdivision and devalue our property.
Do not build on this tree sheltered corner. These homeowners do not need clear cutting, pavement and traffic in their front yards.
Thomasville RD is turning into Tennessee ST! Yuck!

Enough. When Wal Mart went it, there were rules, they had to have trees, it had to sit back from the road... now you're building on every corner while other buildings sit empty and RUINING the beauty of Thomasville Road. It has to stop! This is not Tennessee Street!
