Who will benefit from this commercial development? I don't believe it will be the citizens of South Jordan and definitely not the surrounding neighbors that have paid a premium to live in the Jones Meadows Development. I'm 100% against this proposal that will decrease property valves, increase traffic, increase taxes and make surrounding areas less safe for families. Low density residential would seem to be the best solution this this undeveloped area.

I live one block away from River Heights Drive. I am against commercial developement in the proposed area. I am also opposed to increase traffic which puts greater exposure to our neighborhood therefore in my opinion increasing crime.

Speechless that this would even be a consideration! So many problems with this proposal I can't even begin to list them here. I paid a premium price to live in South Jordan for the quality of life. What a scam that is becoming!

100% opposed to the proposed changes for the River Heights Drive expansions and moving development from residential to commercial for the land West of Jones Meadows. We have lived in Jones Meadows for 14 years and have seen countless plans change by the city allowing developers to change plans to accommodate the land owners best interest. We deal with enough traffic with Costco and the other businesses on both ends of 114 and 106. I’m not aware of anyone in the area that would like to see these changes except those who do not live in the area. Obviously the land will be occupied at some point and the best solution would be to have homes and low activity use development that will not require the road to be widened thus minimizing the overall tax burden on the City and the people of South Jordan.

I own a business and building here in South Jordan. We will be affected by the intersection removal at 104th and bangerter. So we will be loosing our building by eminent domain. I and my partners are not interested in moving to this area where the city wants to rezone for commmercial. I will be very disappointed if they allow for commercial and high density housing. We don’t need this. I also live nearby and agree with all those who have signed this petition. 55 and older housing would be a great compromise. That’s my citizens 2 cents for what South Jordan agrees to receive and listen too.

I live in the Jones meadow neighborhood and would be directly impacted by this decision. I understand the need to develop the land, so if that is the case, please do so with residential single family homes. Commercial buildings and restaurants will create too much congestion and higher taxes.

River heights drive is only 1 mile long. Why does it need to be 4 Lanes?

No, I oppose. I live 75 feet from River Heights drive. It's very frustrating to the see city council disrupt the continuity of an area, awkwardly forcing together commercial and residential parcels. Hundreds of families who have invested their lives and time in the area are negatively impacted by a select few who from a distance choose to change the nature of the area for those who live in it, leaving those residents unhappy and victims of poor planning. This lack of sensitivity to an area for the purpose of tax revenue is irresponsible. It leads to unnecessary degradation and turnover in an area. There are homes both on the west and east side of River Heights and the area is predominantly residential. To not continue the residential aspect of that development on the west side of River Heights that is immediately to the north of the new neighborhood recently finished (minimally) is a cluster of poor planning. To isolate those homes and potentially create a 4-lane road in the front yards of growing families along that street and next to a future park is irrational or poor zone planning. The area has an identity... adhere to it! Is SJ in such need of tax revenue that it's willing to strong-arm residents and uproot the nature of existing development?

As a concerned citizen who lives directly across the proposed sight, I adamantly oppose any plan development west of Jones Meadow neighborhood for commercial use. Our primary concern is safety due to the high volume of traffic and the devaluation of our property and home value.

HELL NO! We don’t want anymore traffic jammed in to this 1/2 mile stretch of road or see our property value further diminished. We are in complete opposition of any proposals for commercial restaurant or shopping mall use. I live directly 100ft east of this proposed site on 10647 S. Logan Canyon Rd, so this directly effects my family and I can’t believe that the city would propose something so asinine. We were told Time and again that Think Storage would be the buffer, with everything north commercial and everything south of that would be low to medium residential. The last proposal was bad enough but, I agreed that it wouldn’t be so bad for low profile office use and or medium density residential. What happened to that plan? Is it not enough revenue for low to medium residential homes? Also, there are a number of blind spots coming out of my neighborhood and the traffic is rediculous enough as is. It is a major safety concern. And does the city wish to also buy our homes now that our property investments will be completely devalued, so we can move elsewhere?! I moved my family to SoJo in 07 because it use to be quiet, safe and we felt valued in this community. I can’t believe that all the open space that we use to enjoy has been sold off, sad really. This quite frankly tells me and all my neighbors living along this stretch of Jones meadows that the city cares more for profit than for sensible, responsible growth. Why do we continue to see such proposals masked with half ass studies and excuses for tax revenue etc? Why aren’t our voices being heard? Do we not pay taxes here? We’re the ones that live here and have to deal with the above mentioned issues. Please involve us more in these discussions moving forward so that TOGETHER we can come up with solutions that we can all live with. I understand these sights are prime but we would rather see low to medium housing like the ones east and directly south of the proposed sight. We don’t need any more commercial and wo

My home faces the proposed development (3492 Bear River Rd) and we strongly appose any additional business or restaurant development in this area. This area is adjacent and across from residential and should be developed as such. There will be less traffic impact with residential than with commercial.

South Jordan residents do not need developments that cause congestion or effects the livelyhood of their neighbors and their Homes. We moved here to get away from this and our elected City Officials have forgotten the needs and desires of their residents.

This commercial development idea by the city is part of an old master plan that has not been re-evaluated in many years. Since Thatcher park was changed from commercial to residential it is only fitting to continue to see an aesthetic flow of residential moving north not to mention the increased flow of traffic previously pointed out and the devaluation of our property. Seems to me that South Jordan City could care less about the residential impact but only of the added tax revenue that commercial property brings.

There is too much traffic. When we moved to South Jordan 17years ago it was more rural. You could drive around town. with adding offices and increasing the traffic employees and patrons. This area is not planned/ built to handle the traffic. Let’s put homes with bigger lots to use up this space before we are California and it takes hours to get any where
