I'd like to see the downtown core get rid of the parking along both sides and make it two lanes in each direction. People can park in parking lots provided.

I am not for the LRT going down MAin Street but I am for Brampton's Growth and Development, returing us back to being a leader in economic development. We need the LRT just not this route. We need it to connect toPMH and East/West to Vaughan.

Right Railway . . .Wrong Route!
If we are looking for redevelopment and intensification potential surely comparing the Main Street South route to the Kennedy Road route, as one of the other options, is simply ludicrous! If ever a road shouted for upgrading, redevelopment and intensification, both residential and commercial, it's Kennedy Road from Steeles to Queen. While homeowners in our coveted Heritage Conservation District are free to upgrade or modify their magnificent homes, parceling properties to encourage and enable large-scale redevelopment is simply not going to happen. The Main Street southern gateway to our City is a source of considerable beauty and civic pride. We could use more . . . . . OF BOTH!

Downtown needs better vehicle access and surface parking. The LRT should run through an adjacent corridor that will eventually support higher density housing and employment.

Under the new #Mayor, staff have now presented a report that aligns with her views, recommending against #Alternate Routes because of the extra costs and #Commute times.
Jeffrey will now have until July 8/2015 to use the staff report to convince five other members of #Council that the Metrolinx plan is the best route forward.
But Bailey and others have questioned how the city plans to cover the local capital costs, ongoing operating costs of an entirely new transit system and how the Brampton, Ontario LRT, with only a quarter of the stations and distance that #Mississauga gets, will be anything more than a way to send Brampton shoppers south into Mississauga, Ontario.
Brampton #Resident Peter Bailey has taken an active role on the issue in the community. He wonders if the proposed LRT will benefit his city at all. The Main St route puts too much increased car and train traffic in a small area and increases the danger to pedestrians and cyclist.

All day GO train service is needed. Main St is not the right spot for an LRT line. I hate how the province is holding us hostage and forcing us to make such a big decision for the city.

One thing that shows we are different than Mississauga, we have a "downtown", they don't. The proposed LRT Route finishes it. AND what about our Santa Claus Parade?

I'm not afraid of change - I'm afraid of being SHORT-changed! Why is the province so eager for us to accept this deal without proper consultation, especially since we turned it down 10 - 1 last time.
Doesn't the province find it concerning that half the Council and probably more than half the residents are not jumping at this "deal".
