I totally agree with your position. Having the LRT running down Main Street would cause nothing more than utter traffic havoc.

The Main Street route makes no sense economically or in terms of the needs of our city.

This route on Main Street would destroy any hope of revitalizing the downtown core.

LRT up through the core of Main Street is a NO Go in my opinion.
The people who support it are motivated for the wrong reasons.
Their opinion is based on the information they have been fed, but
have they questioned the sources of the information as to whether they
are in the best interests of the city, I rather doubt it. Question the people
who have presented them with the information they have been fed so as
to determine why they promote ripping out the character of the city with
their plan to put the LRT up through the historic portion of Main Street.
I believe they will find that the reasons that may be given, are for their own
interests which have nothing to do with what the residents are wanting, and
that is that the LRT not be built north of Nanwood.
If one reviews the LRT stops within the core, one will notice they are very
limited, thus of limited benefit to anyone in the core.
Though the reasons not to put the LRT through the core, any only one of
them, is that the on street parking which benefits the current merchants will
be reduced, or eliminated altogether.
If Linda Jeffrey, Martin Medeiros, Paulo Ribeiro(Unifor Union), and the others who
support the LRT through the core were to listen to the residents, they would
realize that the project as planned is not acceptable, but do they care, I think
not. .
In closing today, I will provide comments presented to a concerned citizen by
Paulo Ribeiro. "What shocks me the most is to have someone who opposing an investment that will bring good jobs, new opportunities, new business and development to our city! Which side are you on?"
Is this a person who listens to the people who reside in this city, Nope, not in my opinion.
Ribeiro is just another quack who supports the LRT based on what it will provide the members of his Union.
