The argument I have been told is 3 postal codes ( the downtown area) are jeopardizing this initiative to bring Brampton up to speed with regional developmental, but that is because it is these 3 postal codes who lives will be affected by the LRT on a daily basis. Make this work for everyone, and reroute from the downtown. Common sense: traffic will reroute off of Hywy 10 to side streets to avoid the backup created by the LRT. Reroute

An LRT through the downtown is clearly an option that is expedient and short sighted simply because of the promise of Provincial funding. We can operate many buses at much less cost and higher reliability. What out City politicians need to keep in mind is that whether the funds come from the Province, Federal Government or the City of Brampton; they come from our taxes. Let's do the right thing and hold the line on costs with this one.

This route does NOT serve 4 Corner Residents. It adds to traffic flow on routes already congested. It will provide no measurable benefit to the local merchants already struggling to add business traffic

This is a very bad idea there is no room downtown brampton for this. And what was the point in spending all the taxpayers money on the zoom!!!!

old brampton is dead anyway maybe we should get a new hub with some life to it, let the old,and privileged people keep their beloved 4 corners and start something that represents this century although i dont have that much faith in our current city planners

Having an LRT is ok but routing through the old downtown core means getting rid of the downtown core. If routed east the LRT could service the far eastern end of Brampton eventually.

I wrote a letter to the Guardian I am against the proposed route. It will ruin the downtown and cause traffic chaos.

The idea is eventually not needing to have cars driving through Brampton in the future. just imagine. Being able to cross the street without having the fear of being run over by Brampton drivers or being backed up for 3o minutes in traffic for an 80m drive. Dont be near sighted people. A LRT is an upgrade on buses which already go through your glorious "Old Brampton". Take a step into the 21st century. Old Brampton is antiquated ideology which is holding back real progress. Nothing changes. Your parks and buildings arent going anywhere. Just the access to them will be more accessible by more energy efficient and less pollution causing modes of transportation. Think of the future. Think of your childrens children children. This is the first step towards a brighter future for them. Stop being selfish. Transportation is for everyone.

This proposal will ruin Main Street South and force traffic to divert along Elizabeth Street South, which is a narrow residential side street. To reduce Main Street traffic from four lanes to two will be utter chaos. Cars will still need to go along Main Street and not everyone wants to go to and from Port Credit.

The last thing we need is to destroy one beautiful thing we have left in brampton. And that's the old brampton. Who in the world are they putting this thing up for. Every one drives up here.
