Final supporters
The Summer Abroad FSL Program in Tours, France changed the grade conversion from x5 to x4.5 for the 2024 class. As such, the French Department and the Summer Abroad office reassured students multiple times that this was done because the host school, the Insititut de Touraine (the Institut), had less rigorous grading standards than that of the University of Toronto (UofT). On site, students found this to be completely inaccurate. Not only were the respective FSL courses academically rigorous with a grading difficulty similar to that of UofT's, but the 4.5 conversion rate reduced students' grades further to a level much below UofT's typical grading standards.
By signing this petition, you are opposed to the 4.5 conversion rate imposed on final grades by the French Department at the University of Toronto for the 2024 Summer Abroad FSL Program in Tours, France. Therefore, you are in support of reinstating the x5 conversion rate and receiving your initial grade given by the Institut.

I found this grading decision incredibly unfair and I was incredibly disappointed to discover that my hard work would not be rewarded by the University of Toronto.
This 4.5 conversion is messing with my mental health and it’s the only thing I talk about to my therapist nowdays

The 4.5x conversion is unfair to us students and implemented this year without students’ consent. The previous years had 5.0x conversion and benefited the previous students. There is malicious intent.
