Billionaires are making more billions during this pandemic, and yet our government can't persuade its own side to back free meals for poor children, who won't be able to concentrate or learn properly because they are going hungry. Shame on them all.

When parents in top tier areas may be having to rely on furlough pay of £5.75 an hour it is crucial that they are assisted to feed their children. £2.10/day is hardly a significant amount in comparison to the £12b spent on test and trace or the billions on HS2 or the cost of building vast lorry parks for Brexit. This is a matter of humanity not politics.

Imagine how you’d feel if it was your children going hungry and you had no means to feed them. Show some empathy and kindness to innocent victims of poverty.

After voting no MP has tweeted as a a positive va the fact that the government provides money for free school meals; that doesn't cover holidays though which are just as important for children.

You should be ashamed no child should go hungry try it with your family and tell them your not going to feed them and see what happens maybe you should go without to and see what it’s like you obviously have never been without. I never voted for you and I never will.

A despicable decision that I hope you’re ashamed of. The need for such a provision has only come about because of the woeful provision of Universal Credit, which is incredibly poorly managed and an inadequate amount to feed a family with the current food prices. Your government’s disregard for the most vulnerable in our society is incredibly concerning. I have very little faith in your priorities as an MP.
