I strongly oppose the proposed mixed-use residential development at No 22 and 22a Thornton Rd. While there may be a precedent within the area for varied density of development, that is not to say that a high density development is appropriate for this particular site. There are already approximately 3-4 high density estates immediately within the area. However, these were all developed many years ago and sit on much larger sites. These sites also provide their own off-street residents parking thereby alleviating the parking stress on local residents and users of the area. The proposal for the development in question allows for parking for only four cars which seems completely inappropriate for the number of proposed flats. Lambeth Planning states that the car ownership level in this ward is 0.62. This indicates an estimated demand for another 17 car parking spaces will be generated by this over-development, a need which cannot be met adequately within the immediate area and certainly cannot be provided given the size of the site. Aside from the issues of over-development and parking, consideration should also be given for the existence of the two local schools on this road. At certain times of the day, there is already congestion in the area due to lack of parking and the fact that Thornton Rd is a cut through for many commuters and local residents trying to by-pass using the South Circular. I am particularly concerned about the road safety of children attending these two schools if permission is granted.

I the application is ill considered and will cause traffic issues. Also creating significant issues and danger for local school children. This application does not represent the family dwellings already in Thornton Road.

This is an ill considered application which would result in massive overcrowding and disruption. To go from 2 individual dwellings to 27 on the same footprint appears ludicrous especially when such poor provision for parking has been submitted in an area in which it is already difficult to park. The disruption and safety risks to the neighbouring school would be intolerable.

I strongly object to this proposed development, it should not be granted permission to proceed. The proposed works will increase traffic significantly, affecting the children at two schools in the immediate proximity to the development.

I strongly object to this proposed development. The design is not in keeping with the rest of the architecture in the street and surrounding area, the development would increase traffic flow on what is essentially a quiet residential street and it would also cause parking chaos. Thornton Road and it's connecting streets already have limited parking due to two schools being in close proximity to the proposed site. An increase in traffic along this road is also likely to put the children from these two schools in greater danger on their journey to and from school.

I strongly oppose this plan - Thornton road is currently a desirable residential area with two attractive schools. The road is already busy with the parents from both sites and a large development of flats will only compound these issues. Also, the proposed development will not fit in aesthetically with the surrounding area - The White House is a beautiful historic building and this development will be detrimental to it as the views will be ruined.

I oppose this planning permission as i am concerned about the increased volume of traffic and resulting safety concerns such a large development would create given that there are 2 primary schools on Thornton Road.

I strongly object to this proposal and permission should not be granted. The site would be overdeveloped and not in keeping with the rest of the area which is made up primarily of two storey houses. The exceptions being The White House and St Bedes, both historically important building, The proposed development would significantly affect views of the White House from areas of Thornton Road. There are concerns that additional traffic and parked cars would create safety issues for children attending the two schools on Thornton Road.

I am against this over development of the area and the resultant increase in traffic and its affect on the nearby local schools.

Permission for this development should not be granted for the following reasons 1) the additional traffic will create safety concerns for children at two local schools 2) the development is out of context for the area which is built up of 2 storey building from the 1930s (?) and 3) it compromises the views of a grade II listed building as you walk along Thornton Rd.

I object to this planning application. Thornton Road is a residential street with limited parking spaces and 2 schools

I strongly object to this planning application . this is a quiet residential area with 2 schools on the road. The traffic already poses considerable problems with safety and this will make it worse.
