The AFM finally backed down and dropped the case against Austin Wintory. It took a massive effort to force them to stop bullying their own members for simply doing their jobs. Keep your eyes open because we need to make sure they never try this kind of predatory nonsense ever …

Composer Austin Wintory, is facing a $50,000 fine from the American Federation of Musicians. As a composer and musician Austin has been forced to work without union sanction because the AFM had failed to sign any video game companies to work with them in almost two years. Under the 2012 contract, no union member had been allowed to work on a new video game soundtrack. Austin is being punished for simply doing his job under those circumstances. No union should ever bully its members let alone selectively punish them for earning a living under adverse conditions that the union itself created. The signing of this petition is not attack on unionism! It's simply a fair demand: AFM, drop the case against Austin Wintory, a case against all composers/musicians who earn a living doing what they love-music.

One hundred people have spoken up to tell the AFM that their bullying tactics against Austin Wintory will not be ignored. This union leadership failed to provide work for two years and now they want to punish a professional for making a living. We are just getting started on making them answer for this hypocrisy.

The AFM is way out of touch with how the industry works these days. Games are huge now and they need to catch up instead of fining people.

This is rediculous. You guys are supposed to represent the talent not make it impossible for them to actually work.
