PETITION
(IN SUPPORT OF THE DEATH PENALTY)

WHEREAS:
1.    We, the undersigned, respect the Rule of Law and Due Process of Law in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
2.    Believe that Members of Parliament are elected and appointed to represent and promote the views of their constituents and other sectorial groups that they were either elected or appointed to represent.

NOW, THEREFORE, we, the undersigned, hereby REQUEST AND REQUIRE by this Petition:

1.    That all Members of Parliament do vote in support of the Constitution Amendment (Capital Offences) Bill 2012 when it is debated in Parliament and do take all necessary and proper steps to ensure the implementation of the death penalty forthwith in the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago.
2.    That any International Treaty to which Trinidad and Tobago is a signatory and any convention which is inconsistent with or precludes our Country from carrying out the death penalty be suspended for a period of five years or abrogated by our Parliament irrespective of the consequences since the murderous elements in our society threaten our very survival as a people.

We Pray that all Members of Parliament do all within their constitutional power and our President does all within his constitutional power such as it is to expedite the objectives herein above set out.

Its about time. These criminals have no fear of the law anymore because they know they will just sit in prison and be fed by the taxpayers. Bring it back!

Crime is out of control in T&T. If you take a life you should lose your life. Simple as that.
