As a Pierce teacher, former Pierce parent and a precinct 6 member, I can not stress strongly enough how badly this project is needed. By delaying it, we risk losing funding and ultimately spending more in the long run.

My daughter graduated from Pierce in 2015 and it was in bad shape and an untenable situation back then. I can only imagine what it's like now. Let's support our kids and educators.

As a parent of 2 Pierce kids I urge the Advisory Committee, Select Board, and School Board to support this project as it stands. The current facilities are substandard and under code (ADA) and we are long overdue in addressing these issues and creating a building we as a town can stand behind and better supports our kids' learning. There has been tremendous time and thought put into how to create a learning experience (programming and facilities) that fully supports pre-K - 8 students. In addition, the late timing of this proposed pause is quite surprising as the information about the complexity, scope, and challenges of the site location have been well and long communicated as have the challenges with making any upgrades to the building.

Both my kids went through Pierce, one graduating in 2009, one in 2012. I spent a lot of time volunteering at the school, and know it well. It needed renovating back then, so I am in full support of it being renovated now. With more students and overcrowding now, I can imagine the architecture of this school is just not holding up. Pierce has had to wait longer than so many other K-8's. It's time.

The case for replacing the current Pierce School building is overwhelming. The project should proceed ASAP.

I am a parent of a Pierce student and 2 more future Pierce students. Losing the MSBA funding would be devastating and leaving this project in limbo longer just increases uncertainty for families. Let's move forward without delay.

This renovation is hugely important to Pierce’s future and keeping on track to have state financial assistance is essential.

I am a Pierce parent of 2 and one entering BHS. Please do not delay this much-needed project and jeopardize the state funding that was specifically sought to help with the costs of rebuilding the complex Pierce site.

Pierce and BHS parent whose children might never see the renovated Pierce, but I fully support the renovation NOW as it is critical to the Town’s investment in our children’s education and our values as a Town. This is not a cosmetic renovation. This is a required renovation due to a failing building and a non-compliant (code & ADA) building, Please do not delay and waste even more of the taxpayers money!

My two kids went to Pierce. Rebuilding the school is critical to the Pierce community. Please make the renovation happen sooner rather than later.

Not only does it seem fiscally irresponsible to delay this project, it is also highly questionable how the town could pull the rug out from under this project after a year of investment.

As a Pierce parent, I strongly urge you to NOT delay this much-needed renovation. The financial, social, and emotional costs of further delay cannot be overstated. We also should not jeopardize the state funding. We must value this critical investment in our children above all.
