TMM P10. To the SB and SC: The Pierce project is needed! Please consider the sunk costs and opportunity costs of a delay, but DON’T remove School Street from the scope! It is a tiny portion of the overall budget and will greatly improve the safety and daily experience of Pierce students and their families by making a safe connection between the building and their playground!

We have waited for years already and we should be cost focused in our planning.

Parent of 2 at Pierce. Please do not delay this. While this may not be the ideal time for the town budget wise, in the long run, this will save a lot of money for a project that will most definitely need to be done in the upcoming years, particularly with the ADA compliance issues and condition of the school. Without MSBA funding it will cost the town much more.

I understand there are many competing priorities for town funds. However, the well-being and education of our youngest school children is my personal highest priority, and the thing that bonds me to this community. The costs of delaying vastly outweigh the gains. I strongly encourage the Select Board and School Board members to support this plan as it is - dilligently designed, responsible, and necessary.

Former Runkle/Current BHS parent. The Pierce community deserves the same improvements other schools have enjoyed. The rest of us need to be willing to support Pierce. Jeopardizing MSBA funding is unwise.

Pierce Parent. Stanton Rd. Brookline, 02445. Pierce needs to be renovated-there is no question about that-for ADA compliance and many other reasons. The cost of renovating Pierce will only rise with a delay, will jeapordize Brookline's relationship with the MSBA which will be a huge loss of funding, have other negative impacts, and overall will cost the town more money in the long run if the project is postponed. Please consider this letter carefully.

We are an incoming kindergarten family and strongly desire that the renovation project get started as quickly as possible, including utilizing the funds provided by MSBA.

Both my children go to pierce and while it’s staff is the soul of the school the building is it’s heart, and right now as it’s stands it’s crumbing around our children. Let’s go forward with this very important project.

Parent of 3 at Pierce. Strongly support need for Pierce Renovation now with MSBA funding. Better to reduce cost/scope of not directly building-related expenses if need be but proceed with current timeline. Thank you.

when I was a young kid, my Dad taught at Boston Latin, where my brother & I could have gone for free. He let us choose what was called "Devo" b/c our schools were great, as they for 12 years proved to us, then later to my daughter. Today's kids deserve the same quality -- which BTWay fuels property values for homeowners. Unfortunately our commercial tax base is too small, which we're trying to improve; but education is our main "industry." No pain, no gain.
