Affirming our support for the Pierce rebuilding Project!

As the parent of a child with an IEP it is a priority for my family and me to see Pierce School be ADA compliant. My child should be able to learn in her neighborhood school.

The AC's recommendation to delay this project appears to be based less on the project's merits (developed through a lengthy, deliberate and completely transparent process) than on a political stance to oppose major town infrastructure investments. Shame.

A complete rebuild for Pierce is long overdue and desperately needed. Please make it happen ASAP. No more delay.

Pierce parent. The students and staff deserve a functional ADA complaint building with a full size gym, auditorium, oh and walls in the classrooms.

The current building does not fulfill the needs of the Pierce community students and teaching staff. It is overcrowded and needs urgent renovation.

I urge you to support the Pierce Renovation without delay. We needed to revamp our teaching spaces almost 25 years ago, but Pierce was put at the bottom of the list, and is FINALLY able to receive much needed updates.. I currently teach in the SEC which is not an adequate teaching environment. I urge you to spend a day in Unit A or the SEC to see how the volume and learning spaces adversely affect young learners. Renovating Pierce is not a luxury; it is a necessity.

It is time to renovate the school, delays will not save money but most likely end up costing more. This project needs to begin asap!

It is time for Pierce. Please stop putting off this vital project. This central, most urban part of Brookline has long been neglected.

This delay was proposed on the misguided supposition that tax payers would balk at the cost of the fire department repairs and operational budget overrides when voters of Brookline have repeatedly shown the fortitude to do what’s right for the town. Delays will only lead to dereliction and greater future costs at the expense of the “feel of Brookline” and the tax payers’ future wallets.

As a Pierce teacher, I can say with 100% confidence that delaying this project is detrimental to student and staff experience.

Putting the project off is short-sighted and will only cost more in the long run. Unclear to me why a deteriorating and dangerous School is acceptable in this neighborhood but not the rest of Brookline.

As a Brookline resident, parent and teacher, I believe we need to move forward with the building project. A delay would be detrimental to the project.

Pierce parent whose kids wont see the benefits of renovation; however, the school is in need of renovation and further delays will be harmful to kids and provide for an inequitable experience.

The renovation of Pierce is long overdue. It should not be postponed.

We reluctantly took our kids OUT of Pierce a few years ago because of chaotic, dangerously overcrowded classrooms. This overhaul is BEYOND desperately needed!!

Please don’t let us lose valuable funding from the state by delaying this project.
