Everyone should be treated equally regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity. I used to be a member of the Church of God, but would no longer be accepted there as I am now living my truth as out gay man who is very happily married. I want to see future generations not have to experience the trauma that I experienced by denying my very identity and sense of self to “fit in”. That leaves you with scars you carry for the rest of your life.

I have been too tired for too long trying to separate my sexuality from my education at Lee, thinking that being a gay Christian was mutually exclusive from being a Lee graduate. The Affirming Alum Collective is helping countless students - past, present, and future - realize that you can be both non-heterosexual AND a Christian, and I think it's high time for us to stop living in the shadows.

I know exactly what these kids are going through. My friend and I have had to deal with 24/7 harassment for the past 8 months perpetrated by Cleveland P.D... You can count on us to join the fight.

As a half African(from christian majority countries of Sub-Saharan Africa)-half Carribean black pentecostal i can answer to these homosexuals:we don't hate you,we hate only the sin.Peope aren't born as lgbtq,they become lgbtq that's why different generations have different percentage of people who consider themselves as lgbtq.People who born again with the Holy Spirit are no longer lgbt,i saw this with my own eyes.
The Bibble is very clear that homosexuality is a sin.According to Leviticus (Old Testament) and Paul(New Testament) sodomy is a sin.That's why Pentecostals from all countries and continents of the world(Central America, Carribean Haiti, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, Bahamas etc, Sub-Saharan Africa etc) don't accept lgbt agenda because pentecostals accept the Bibble 100% word to word.Read the Bibble again and find Jesus to cure this sin.

As a former member of another Pentecostal denomination, alumna of Oral Robert’s University, parent of a transgender child, and a follower of Christ, I stand with LGBTQ Lee students and alumni.
I’m happy that so many people and organizations within the school are rallying around the the gay community to support them. I just don’t believe that the school is sending a good message or even god-like message of love to the students by not holding him more accountable. Just because he delivered these comments during chapel, doesn’t mean that it’s still not speaking out against a marginalized group of students within its own university. It also doesn’t mean that you can use chapel as a platform to speak out against things you don’t agree with in your own personal beliefs. He is the president of a university and regardless of the fact that it is a church of god faith-based university, you are aware that there are LGBTIQ+ students that attend your institution and if he has a problem with that, then he shouldn’t hold the position of president of Lee

I am a returning student at Lee. I witnessed so many hurtful actions against LGBTQ+ students when I was an on-campus starting in 1993. It’s sad to see Lee going backwards instead of moving forward and acknowledging the value that non-heterosexual students bring to the family. We are God’s sons and daughters, too.
I left the Church of God because of the lack of support and their stance on LGBTQIA+ community. I am Gay and used to want to attend Lee, but didn’t because of the fear of having to hide myself. I am a Child of God!!!! The Bible doesn’t teach against LGBTQIA+ relationships at all!!!
