They are jacking up costs because it hasn't been cold enough for the new law to take effect. The one that states that if it stays below freezing for 3 days/nights straight then they are not allowed to shut off your electric. So they know everyone has to pay their bills so they won't get disconnected, so they simply Jack up the prices and bills since they know they're getting paid regardless. When it is below freezing some people just let their bills go for a while because they know that AEP isn't allowed to shut off their power. Total scam!!

What a shame the working people can't afford to keep their families warm, and AEP has the monopoly on us!

Pay lots of money for service when the slightest breeze will knock the power out.

I live alone and my bill was $450.00 this past month! I called to ask why and was told because the weather went from 65 to 45 degrees! Not a good answer!

Up until November my bill was an average of $160.00. In December my bill was almost $500 and this month again almost $500. Outrageous!

My bill started out at $300.00, then there was $96.00 extra charges on top of that. I live on a fixed income and if I wasn't on the budget, there is no way I could pay my bill.

I got my very first electric bill for my new place and it's almost 400 dollars. I live in a very small 2 bedroom mobile home and I don't even have a washer and dryer yet my bill is THIS high?! I have over a hundred bucks in so called fees for this or that. I'm over this company and their treatment of their customers. It's absurd.
