Most people are on a fixed income, especially the elderly. They have to choose between food, medicine or heat. That should never happen.

I put of WV due to not being able to make a living. My electric bill hardly ever ran less than $300 at any time. I worked 2 full time jobs and my husband worked and still couldn't make ends meet due to AEP and the local water company charging outrageous prices for utilities.

My bill has almost tripled and I leave my heat on 66 degrees constantly. There is no reason for this. It needs to stop.

My electric has never ran more than 200 or so a month here recently I've been sent 2 bills for almost 400.00 a piece it's just me and my son who live there and there is no way this should be this high about to switch my service

Our power bills are ridiculous charging over 100.00 in taxes every month and paying for the shut down of power plants that we didn't even want to shut down.We the tax payers and customers of AEP shouldn't have to pay for their decisions no matter how expensive THEY SHOULD out of their very big profits!!!! We also shouldn't have to see power bills that are just as high as they were last year at this time when this January is has been in the 50's and 60's most of the month which naturally lets the heat run a whole lot less....IT'S CRIMINAL AND PETHETIC doing their customers that way !!!! They should be forced to give everyone of discounts every month for the rest of the year or for the exact amount they have robbed from us over the years!!!!

My electric bill almost doubled these past couple of months, and it is winter ,and I was not even home, An before I had left I had shut my hot water heater off, an usually do every night to conserve on the electric , That use to save me about $ 20 bucks a month ,that is about $ 240 bucks a year friends, an I shut off all the lights except two, one in the house an one outside on the front porch, and all the vampire electric,, things like your vcr,s an tv,s plugs that are not being used , ,I did this just to see how much it did save, not just to be a cheap person, Trust me they add up, , and by the way I heat with propane, the only thing that runs constantly is the refrigerator an freezer , but then again they are on their own timers that shut them down ever 20 min, an back on, But you get what I am sayin,,Now AEP sent me a letter they suggest ,,that they want me to sign a paper for assurance of my incoming line if the line should come loose from the house , that they would fix it free,if I payed theem $3.00 a month now isn't that some thing ,

These electric bills are outrageous and should not be that costly. The poor in this area have a difficult time keeping their services on due to the extreme costs.
