My power bill has been over $400 for the last 4 months. It's insane! My husband had a accident & is on compensation. We can't afford this! AEP doesn't work well with you, they just don't care. It's sad.

Our electricity bills are outrageous! We are using less energy but our bill is much higher! This is a shame. And as much that our electricity goes out during the year, its just horrible!

Tired of my bill been more then my rent ... I don't use electric to heat with that's the sad thing my electric shouldn't be over 100 dollars a month then all these extra fees added on that's outrageous ! Give people a break here !

The amount we are paying for power is getting down right ridiculous. I know people in other states that are paying A LOT less than I am and they've had a lot colder winter than we have in our area. All the added on charges are ridiculous. We should not have to pay for those things. That's what they themselves should be paying out of the PROFITS they ARE making off of their incredibly high prices. Something needs to be done about this!

Studio apartment. Gas heat and a $294. Electric bill last
Month which is the cheapest I've had. Record mild winter. Heat has been on a total of 5 days setting at 64° !!!!! No laundry, no cooking , etc.

We have a huge complaint regarding the constant increase in our electric bills. Every year, the December, January & February bill doubles - more if we actually have cold weather. This is a definiate. As high as it was, don't imagine I could have paid it if we had had cold weather. This is just not right. First of all, my bill before any electric used is $120 of taxes, fees, and charges for whatever you all decide to buy and have us pay for it. The only addition charges that is customary to be charged is the state taxes. We demand that AEP pays for their own purchases and STOPS expecting us to pay for them just because you know we have to have electric and in our area we have no other options. You corner the market - you know it - and you just add whatever without as much as giving us the right to vote. It's our money that we work hard for, it's not yours to take as you will. I don't mind paying reasonably for what I use, but I don't appreciate that I having to pay triple what the actual bill should be. You need to manage your money the way we all have to and take the majority of those fees, taxes and miscellaneous charges off the backs of all your customers. If you don't have surplus to buy a power plant or a new truck, then don't buy it and expect us to pay for it. If you can't operate more efficiently, then an alternative could be the state get investors to build another plant and give us another choice. You're solution can't continue to be to just add the cost to customers electric bills. There's way too many of those already. Would be the right thing to deduct at least 75% of those off the bills or stop over- charging for the wattage! You people need to stop capitalizing on the fact that we HAVE TO HAVE electric, but it doesn't mean that gives you the right to financially rape us. GIVE US A BREAK!

It's a down right shame that AEP forced my hand to get wire ? Insurance!!! An extra 4.99 a month! It's crazy!! And paying over double for just one month of electricity is outrageous!! From 200.00 to 450.00. In one month it jumped that much!! This needs to stop! We can barely keep our heads above water to survive at this day and time. Please do something to lower your rates so the "small" person can make it in this area. Don't force our hand to move! We love Eastern Kentucky and so do our kids.
